Acting for business ethics
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Group is built on strong values that have always shaped our culture and guided our actions. Ethics is one of our core values, one aspect of our corporate responsibility, and our collective promise. The Group has introduced a stronger framework across all its entities to ensure that every employee plays an active role in fulfilling Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s requirements regarding integrity and transparency. To take one step further at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, we have defined five key attitudes: humility, entrepreneurship, team spirit, excellence and transparency. Enshrining transparency as a core attitude helps to foster ethical conduct across the company every day.
“Behaving ethically nurtures trust among our customers, our partners and our employees, and creates a respectful working environment. Integrity is the best way to go for us.”
Jeanette Jansson
Ethics and Compliance Director of Â鶹ÊÓƵ
Our vision
Besides behaving in an irreproachable manner, each employee must play an active part, through their day-to-day job, in preventing any situations involving risks.
How we take action
Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Code of Ethics and Conduct establishes all the business ethics principles that apply in all circumstances and in all our host countries. It is used in conjunction with the Group’s Anti-corruption Code of Conduct, which details the related rules (notably as regards identifying risks in business processes) and lists all proscribed conduct.
All Â鶹ÊÓƵ business unit managers are required to identify risks and implement an action plan to address them, including the measures prescribed in the Anti-corruption Code of Conduct.
Both these documents are available in 31 languages and can be read by all employees in their country’s official language. They are also included in the welcome kit for new employees, and the Group’s top 53,000 managers have pledged to comply with and enforce them within their scope.
1
Legal compliance
All Â鶹ÊÓƵ companies and their employees must comply with the applicable laws and regulations in the countries where they work.
2
Anti-corruption
All employees must refer to Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Anti-corruption Code of Conduct, which details all the applicable rules.
3
Preventing conflicts of interest
All employees must avoid directly or indirectly engaging in any activities or making any remarks that could entail a conflict of interest with the Group.
4
Communication and information
The Group attaches great importance to the quality of the information it supplies, and strives to communicate transparently and truthfully, especially with its stakeholders.
5
Transparency and internal control
All employees play a part in continuously improving our risk management system, and help to identify and address any malfunctions.
We all assist diligently during any investigations, reviews or audits, and in any internal control procedures.
